A validated list of private equity acquisitions of US short-term acute care hospitals from 2000 to 2024, built by reconciling six commercial transaction databases into 141 deals covering 555 hospitals. The deal list, the construction code, and documentation of where the source databases disagree are all public, so researchers can use the sample directly or adapt the pipeline to their own setting.
Physician Practice Ownership
Annual ownership classifications for dermatology and gastroenterology practices billing Medicare from 2012 to 2022, sorting roughly 15,000 practices into independent, corporate chain, hospital or health system, insurer, and physician-owned supergroup. The construction code is public, but because the classifications are built on Medicare MD-PPAS files, reproducing them requires your own data use agreement with CMS. ***For now only the MD-PPAS build code is public. We are adding Ob-Gyn and plan on publishing NPI-year ownership file in 2027.
